Terranova Universe: Key Historic Events

Several events have shaped the universe of which the union of terranova is merely a part of. But they have, anyway, influenced the outcome of it's history and civilization. the first event (top left) is the Mountain Chord War: The loose towns and clans of dragons, humans and other species, have united together aganist the attack of the surrounding kingdoms which desire to possess the trade routes they mark. Since ages these towns had been left alone without an actual allegiance to any kingdom. But after the spike in population produced by no feudal system and lack of taxes in the "wild lands" and the achords of the nascent terranovan nation with the natives (which by the way were considered terranovan citizens in the achords and their lands legitimized and marked) producing little to no attacks on these towns, provoking an enrichment of the potential of those territories; The feudal monarchies decided to simultaneously attack those "rebel settlements" causing massive casualties and stimulating a panicked reaction from the remaining towns. But unexpectedly the previously considered "savages" were armed and provided with supplies and armor, marching alongside the terranovan volunteers which organized the first army of the mountains which totally and utterly destroyed the conquering armies and shifted the balance in favor of the "High Valley nation" the extraofficial name for the Republic of Terranova.

The second event (top right) is the revolution of Advinita. After a coup'd etat led by a mercenary officer disbanded the debilitated kingdom of advinita, a despotic alliance had been established, causing great unrest in the populace which saw a progressive drop in the independance of their nation as trade and production were soaked up by forced goods and payments to the southern coast nation Aldara which controlled their government via the mercenary junta which had sized the government. In this situation of unrest a sharp rise in the price of foods and bread in aldara produced a critical policy of prioritizing the delivery of food to aldara, leaving the nation hungry, starved and angry. A protest of intellectuals and other groups of citizens turned rapidly in a riot which lasted enough for the news to get onto the farmlands producing a uprising in all areas of advinita. The mercenary junta ordered a slaugther of rebels and asked for dispatch of troops from aldara. but the troops from aldara couldn't land anywhere on the continent unless they spent 6 months of travel to land at another sector, making them choose to pass through the territories considered soveregin to terranova which dispached a shock army (quadruped dragons and heavy infantry) to stop them. the advinita nation overthrew the junta and seeing their chances sent a unification proposal to terranova which renamed the "Union of Terranova" and moved on to conquer aldara which collapsed because of the food crisis and fragmented into three nations on of which entered the union, other remaining independent, and the other merging into another kingdom.

The third event (medium left) ocurred in the long continent of Amiri discovered by advinitan explorers. A Colony of Aldara had established in a warm water port city after a tremendously long travel and had expanded into a half of the west coast of the continent which was very rich in tribes and indigenous cuadruped dragon population living in the mountains and grasslands of the continent. But then they decided to start Eastward exploration capturing and enslaving the indigenous dragons.
They were believed to be single lone animals with medium intellect, but they were really of the same kind of the dragons which lived in terranova (news of the terranovan nation and the fall of aldara hadn't reached the ears of that colony in 7 years). Blinded by this fallacy they captured and enslaved some of the integrants of an actually huge nation of dragons. loosely commanded by a council of elders. The crisis at hand produced the rise of a young Female dragon called Alara-anne which rallied the groups sparsely established alongside the nation an challenged the command of the nation. It was given to her as a regent or "black sky leader"- the highest of dragon denominations of power with the compromise that she would free the nation from the menace at hand, and she did. She established a chain of command, a set of rules and conquered several rural areas where she learned of human technology (metalwork, hygiene, taxes and land ownership) and started to use it in the dragon society until she established an army of armored dragons and started to assault the lands of the colony until the colonists decided to ask for help back home only to discover that there was no home. The terranovan kingdom (in praxis, the succesor of the duties of aldara) arrived at the scene, striking a good impression among the dragon native populace and specially the now duchess of Dra-miri (dragon native name for Amiri continent) convincing the duchess to reduce their claims of land from the full Amiri to the previous indigenous lands plus all uncolonized and unexplored lands and the colony which was evacuated by terranovan (Captured Aldara) vessels. From this conflict exists the Travel restrictions of Dra-miri which ban all humans exept for terranovan citizens.

The fourth event (Center right) is the Ro-Inbin palace assault in the oceanic nation of Inbin. Event which sparked the entrance of terranova into the First transoceanic war.
The land of Inbin was one without much resources but with many rich opportunities in agriculture. After the rise of the Black-Rose Order in Valderii in the continent just south of Inbin, there had been conflict between the terranovan sphere of influence and the Black-Rose, because the Emperor of Valderii had taken refuge in Terranova. The agression on Inbin was condemnned as vicious but the minor agressiveness of the war hadn't been enough to cause a war. Until the assault on Ro-Inbin ocurred. A small delegation of diplomats and Royal Agents of the King's Office was inside the palace. Among them a child of a couple of diplomats was with a camera and filmed the 17 hours struggle to survive the assault which killed most of the people inside and his family. He escaped the palace on the wings of an officer of the KO/SS whose identity was never released and remains a state secret. The tape was used as evidence, and the assault and the deaths were the Cassus Beli of the war.

The last event (bottom left) is the fire bombing of Inbin's south provinces where the black rose had made complex fortresses and outposts to defend the area from the last pushes of the terranovan army in the last days of war.
These attacks caused international revolt because of the sistematical elimination of all integrants of the black rose. sometimes aganist the orders of generals. This revolt derived in the Ro-Inbin Conventions on Warfare And Weapons which changed warfare forever.
